Good day every one . at first when i see the picture it was kind of immoral stuff but if you are a Hindu you will appreciate it . I quite pondering about it then I found out it is unique in India because in some country like east Asia they preserve moral values but in India nudity and eroticism is part the way they live the culture they are .With justice I respect it. . good day everyone.. the sculpture tells quite different.. but after reading -the sclupture is about thier kind of beliefs, at first i really dont understand but now, i knew it, that every places have their beliefs and its up to if want you to believe. and when reading, there comes a statement "that sex and religion are intertwined", well i can really say that its a unique belief .. because we all know that being a filipina when sex is about topic were so concervative. and about the sculpture its awkward but greatly awesome:) RAY-ANN CURATO I-2
After I've seen the picture i kinda feel gross on it and I wonder what the Hindu people thinking when they building it. We Filipino's are conservative, even in our own homes we taboo the words that may related to sexual activities. Well our religion and theirs are different so it's okay and i respected their belief because every races has their own ideas in the way of life. (The temple and sculptures are really looks great!!!)
when I first saw the sculpture I was shocked I didn't expect that the people who are in the sculpture are all naked and making sexual position. But I will respect the person who made that one. I think there is a lot of meaning behind that sculpture....
A pleasant day to you ma’am!! As I looked upon the sculpture,I was really shocked, amazed, and I felt like I have goosebumps viewing this exotic things. Because as a devoted Christian, this kind of images was strictly prohibited in our own beliefs. And one thing that questioned in my mind is why do they have this kind of feature? For what purposes that they need it to exhibit? But besides that,I can’t deny the fact that we are all composed of various cultures. And our culture is very opposite from them. That’s why ,immediately,I understand their traditions that we need also to respect. All we have to do is we must just narrow our mind,be practical of what we have seen from the other cultures because in that way, we can say to ourselves that we are educated enough to perceive and value the beliefs of others.Furthermore, I am thankful to you Ma’am for having us an opportunity to skimmed this sculpture wherein I gained more knowledge their culture.Though it is not worthwhile for me,but still I have learned a lot of things.I am excited and aware of your incoming posts.THANK YOU MA’AM AND GOD BLESS!!!
As a teenager, I am not please of watching some people who are not wearing their clothes. So that's why I am curious why you are posted an art like that, but as of now after reading the paragraph/explanation about it,I understand! Every country or every place has its own culture. So, I realized that we should respect the cultures and traditions of other people because it is their behavior and characteristics that they should open to everybody if who/whom they are. Maybe I am not please of watching some people like that because I am just only a Filipino lady that our cultures and traditions are not like in India. And respecting to other cultures are important.
Hello, everyone! I read the article, I felt and knew it was rated “SPG”… because of the pictures… I was shocked that it was all about the documentary film and its contains that unbelievable faith.. As I saw the sculptures, I felt they were awkward. . . For me, it represents a worldly flesh pleasures . . . I was shocked also that it was found in a temple where the Indians worshiped. . . It is my first time of my life that I had encounter a religion whose the followers believed that sex and religion were always intertwined. . . Ako ay nabigla sa Indians’ custom, practices and beliefs. Unlike, our Filipino culture… But in the last, I respect the culture and tradition of Hindus where they were lived
Good Evening! "How could this be. This cannot be!" What a culture!!! For the first time of my life, it just then when I've known that there's such culture existing. It is very ironic thing upon putting those erotic sculptures as part of their religious culture in the sense that we, Filipinos are not used to it. I am not fond of reading history books even knowing the culture and practices of other countries that is why, I was very shocked specially when I've read that "...sex and religion are always intertwined".Perhaps, I have to read a lot , to discover more interesting points about the countries beyond the Philippines. It's been a great pleasure exploring something new from us. Indians have their own thinking, they have their own way of life, they are just somewhat unique that makes us confused... why are they going to praise that way? Why there is a need for them to display such figures? Why?.o..why? . Many things to be asked, but how it could be answered? Well, maybe that is really the thing that makes them UNIQUE. That's the nature of being them! The way the sculpture was carved is a very amazing creation.Unbelievable! Worthy of a sounding applause! It only proves that they are good in art. But the message of this figure that it is trying to express to the public is another story. I Am a christian, I believe in one GOD and i don't like those erotic sculptures. But, it doesn't mean I am going to discriminate what they believe. If ever they are right or wrong in our eyes, they will always be right for themselves. And we will always stand for what we believe is Right.CULTURE is always be a CULTURE! just like a TREE will always be a TREE, it will not turn into a STONE anyway. The best thing to do is to RESPECT ONE ANOTHER. For me, our ALMIGHTY FATHER is the only powerful God. So , I am lifting the final judgement into HIS HANDS.
HAHAHA! I drop a big laugh when I saw the sculpture of the Khajuraho Temple because it was so dirty for me. Its just like something makes us to think about sexaul intercourse. But, I conclude that its normal because its their passion or shall we say its their culture. so i'd respect it, as what is ours.
I`m laughing when I saw the sculpture of the Khajuraho Temple.I cant imagine if its impact to me as I read the blog.My mind is full of malice when I saw those figures who are having sexual intercourse. But i cant blame them for having those kind of culture because its already a part of their religion. At first,I was amazed with the sculpture because is not ordinary to feature out through arts such things like this.As a filipino, we are not practicing this kind of art but I learn to respect ones culture because we have our culture that they don`t have and they have which We don`t have too!!! THANK YOU AND GOD BLESS!!!
Hello!!! As I have seen the sculptured in the temple, the first thing that comes in my mind is the Indian people. How can they concentrate in praying with that erotic sculpture facing them? How can they lived with that kind of culture? But after watching the film which is about the temple, I found it as a cultural attitude. I understand that the sculpture is part in their culture and it doesn’t mean that even they have that kind of sculpture, they going to do it, they going to perform it in public on what sculpture shows. They devoted that temple for they believed that those temple is a temple of fertility, what I mean the productivity or the abundant of their rice fields, their source of living and their culture. And that erotic sculpture symbolizes the relationship between human and God. That having that sculpture can make them closer to their god. And as far as I know Indian people are also conservative nowadays. I can say that it’s because I have seen Indian love stories movie such as the three Idiots, Ghadjini and others. And they are not that people who perform a public display of affection.
Hello!!! Well, at first when I saw it, I felt something bad in my side. You know having that sculptures and paintings posted at the walls of the temple and there were plenty of them was such an immorality to me. Even though they believe that sex and religion is always intertwined, they should respect the privacy of each other or what we say “couples”.in my part, it’s hard to believe that they post those erotic sculptures exactly at their temple and they don’t like couples who kissed each other on public. Their culture and religion are really different from us. As Christians , we respect god and posting those erotic sculptures and paintings are really bad and if we do we already commit a mortal sin. Even though they have different culture from us, we should respect them and they also have the right to choose their religion as well like us. Judy Ann G. Bendoy GC I-4
